The Research Cluster on Energy Modelling and Regional Economic Analysis (RCEMREA) is a research cluster under the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia, specializing in applied research. The studies carried out by the research cluster’s members emphasize the importance of interrelation between energy, regional economic and policy issues, and other sustainable development aspects. RCEMREA conducts applied research to investigate various energy and regional economic problems at the regional, national, and international levels and supports stakeholders to develop policy recommendation based on the research findings. The research cluster also promotes energy and regional economic policy formulation strengthening through capacity building, involving faculty, students, and other research centres within University of Indonesia. In the process, RCEMREA also cooperates with policy experts and stakeholders in various sectors. The research cluster is aiming to establish University of Indonesia as a national and international centre of excellence in the fields of energy and regional economics and policy. A crucial feature of RCEMREA is its independence, which comes from being the part of University of Indonesia. RCEMREA’s research outputs are currently disseminated through publications (article journals and working paper), seminars, and workshops. This is the core of RCEMREA’s contribution to the university.
